Escondido (pronounced "eskun-DEE-doe") is a city located in north eastern part of San Diego County,

The name means "hidden" in Spanish, named after is location in a shallow valley ringed by rocky hills. Founded in 1888, it is one of the oldest cities in San Diego County. The city has a diverse economy and population of an estimated of 128,819 people.  The median income for a family is $48,456.
